Senate Majority Policy Committee to Review Technological Innovation in Healthcare

CANONSBURG – The Senate Majority Policy Committee, chaired by Sen. Dave Argall (R-29), will visit Canonsburg next week at the invitation of Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-46) to discuss technological innovations to expand access to quality healthcare in both rural and urban areas of Pennsylvania.

The public hearing will take place on Wednesday, Mar. 19 from 1-3 p.m. at Waynesburg University’s Southpointe Center at 1000 Horizon Vue Dr., Canonsburg, PA.

“Our region provides an abundant source of the best medical technology in the country that continues to evolve at a breakneck pace,” Bartolotta said. “We need to focus on ways to harness this advancement and deliver better results for our children and aging population who are increasingly reliant on Medicaid.”

“No one in Pennsylvania should be required to travel hundreds of miles to a major city to received quality healthcare, yet that is the unfortunate reality for too many people,” said Argall. “I look forward to learning how we can bring emerging technologies to all our hospitals in both rural and urban areas.”

Panelists will include lawmakers, healthcare professionals, and industry experts. The hearing will be livestreamed on the Senate Majority Policy Committee’s website.
