WASHINGTON – To help residents fight rampant identity theft, Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-46) is hosting a free Identity Theft Prevention Event on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in the Fort Cherry High School Gymnasium parking lot, 110 Fort Cherry Road, McDonald.
It will be a drive-through event for individuals only, not businesses. An industrial shredder truck will be onsite, and up to two bags or boxes will be accepted per vehicle. Identity theft information will be provided.
“This is a great opportunity to shred documents with personal information much faster than is possible with a home shredder. The industrial shredder is also better at protecting the information than some home models – don’t take the chance with data that someone could use to steal your identity,” Bartolotta said.
Phonebooks, newspapers and bound books cannot be accepted. Please remove any binder or paper clips.
It is not necessary to register for the event, but residents who have questions are asked to call the district office at 724-225-4380.
