Senate Majority Policy Committee Hearing About Rural Health Care

HARRISBURG – The Senate Majority Policy Committee will be holding a public hearing about rural health care on Wednesday, Feb. 14, starting at 1 p.m. at Penn Highlands Mon Valley, Monongahela, PA 15063, according to Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-46).

The goal of the hearing is to highlight the issues that threaten rural health care sustainability in Pennsylvania and what strategies may be taken to ensure continued care to the public. Testimony will be received from representatives of various rural health care provider institutions and organizations.

The agenda includes discussion of Senate Bill 25, sponsored by Bartolotta, which seeks to expand access to high-quality health care by allowing qualified Advanced Practice Registered Nurses-Certified Nurse Practitioners (APRN-CNPs) to practice independent of a physician.

The hearing will be livestreamed here.
